Position Overview: Account Payable Supervisor

Job Overview:

The AP Supervisor will work with vendors, buyers, credit, inventory control and the
distribution centers to ensure timely remittance to vendors. Any variances found should be
researched in a timely manner and resolved as necessary per company payable policy.

Job Responsibilities:

* Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Account Payable department

* Responsible for reviewing the status of invoices, statements, receivers and
purchase orders

* Expedite the payment of invoices, follows up and resolves problems concerning
variances due to shortage, damaged goods, incorrect merchandise, returns and
pricing
* Resolves problems in billing and payment

* Follows up to assure vendor compliance to purchase order specification and other
terms or conditions

* Directs the processing of debit memos for quality or price variances or other
charges, which are not compliant to the purchase order.

* Directs the processing of invoices ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of the
generated customer invoices

* Process Account Payable checks run; mail checks and maintain check copies

* Monitor inventory of department supplies and forms; ensure availability of
adequate materials to conduct work activities; initiate requests/orders for new or
replacement supplies

* Assist in reviewing invoices for corrections, price and acceptability with respect to
quantity, vendor, purchase order and to determine the necessity and processing
of debit memos

* Assist in the development and review of Account Payable procedures and
methods

* May attend corporate, buyer or sales meetings and other relevant meetings
outside regular business hours

Job Requirements:

* Thorough knowledge of account payables plus the application of general
accounting theory

* Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint software programs

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience that
provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities

* Three to five years of accounting experience

* Must seek continuous training and knowledge in order to stay abreast of changes
in the Accounting profession
