Accountant/ AP Manager - Job Responsibilities ( Below )

Oversee the daily activities of the Accounts Payable Team. In addition, prepare and review various monthly and quarterly journal entries, reports, analysis and reconciliations.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Ensure the accuracy and team implementation of standard AP processing system through the review of voucher input, month-end trial balance reconciliations, and general ledger account analysis.
  • Provide hands on training, continuous learning, and process improvement taking the AP function to next level-accuracy, timeliness (days cycle in alignment with department guidelines), efficiency, automation.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to the AP Team in resolving external and internal customer inquiries, disputes, and communicate to management any potential risks or conflicts.
  • Take initiative and proactive lead with vendors, as needed, to prevent issues that may arise.
  • Ensure proper recording and accurate reporting of deposits and prepaid expenses.
  • Prepare and review monthly and quarterly accruals and provide management with forecasting and subsequent reviews of these activities.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly journal entries as required.
  • Oversee timing of vendor payments and month-end AP closing for US and Canada and provide backup when needed.
  • Participate in the semi-annual Sox testing.
