Vaco is recruiting for an accounting assistant / accounts payable specialist for a fast growing service provider we work with in Peachtree City. One year of experience is required (internships also count) along with solid Excel skills. Target pay is $18-$20 per hour.

  • Ensure proper, timely, and accurate invoice processing including high volume data entry by project number
  • Develop an understanding of customers' unique requirements around AP processing (e.g., schedules, GL coding, file formats, etc.) including, over time, an ability to sense that something appears unusual
  • Accounts Payable/T&E processing - review all pending invoices for assigned customers to determine whether such invoices are appropriate for payment and recording into project accounting system
  • Research discrepancies when called upon (between amounts billed and customer short pays)
  • Open and manage disputes with underlying providers on behalf of customers.
  • Maintain system integrity with respect to client data
  • Maintain open invoice list and clear discrepancies when possible in order to process invoices for payment
  • Prepare periodic AP summary file submissions of approved invoices (batch process) to an assigned AP Analyst for review and onward submission to the customer. Provide supporting information
  • Other as required including filing and organization


  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred.
  • 1-2 years related experience, preferably working in an accounting support role is a plus or an internship would be a positive, as well.
  • Detail oriented, able to perform sometimes high volume, repetitive tasks consistently and accurately
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks, working independently to meet deadlines
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and juggle between processing, research, projects and other duties as assigned
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems, recognize and recommend preventive activity to avoid similar issues in the future, and implement solutions
