Job Description

The position provides overall leadership for end-to-end ERP project management, oversees implementation of the ERP applications and/or services or upgrades to existing applications, and drives continuous improvement to business processes and business results. The position also assists in coordinating ERP application maintenance and enhancement efforts to leverage enterprise resources, knowledge, and best practices.

This position ensures the successful transfer of knowledge from the ERP implementation team to the post-implementation support organization and to all employees affected by the implementation. The position works closely with business and technical leadership, serving as an ERP expert resource, bringing forth opportunities to leverage ERP initiatives to better the business and influence decisions regarding business process changes.

Some of the oversight functions of this position move to the support organization at the end of implementation (e.g., help desk, knowledge management, business consulting and training).

Primary Responsibilities and Activities

This is a position of influence, stakeholder engagement, and expectation management:

* Ensures that the ERP project is implemented on-time and on-budget

* Maintains complete autonomy for the management of the ERP initiative to meet the needs of the business

* Coaches and mentors ERP core team members and stakeholders

* Establishes and ensures appropriate governance functions for the program

* Directs the creation and maintenance of the required program documentation and artifacts.

* Ensures and balances the availability of the required skills and competencies across project teams within the program.

* Maintains and controls the ERP project budget, schedule, and resources

* Manages highly complex business issues arising from the implementation of new processes or functions

* Keeps executive team and stakeholders fully informed of ERP project by providing status updates, identifying risks, and communicating mitigation plan

* Responsible for ERP projects, including project planning, resource allocation, steering committee leadership and team organizational structure management

* Responsible for project communications

* Manages project scope, risk, and issue resolution

* Responsible for quality of project deliverables

* Manages integration of solution(s) into enterprise technical architecture and business environment

* Responsible for managing relationship with ERP vendor, integrator, and all related 3rd parties

* Responsible for ensuring that the project can deliver the benefits outlined in the business case, and that it meets the reasonable expectations of end users

* May be responsible for procurement of package-related hardware, software, and services


* 7+ years of progressively responsible IT experience, with sensitivity and commitment to business problem solving

* At least one ERP project using Acumatica, with strong preference for experience in highly regulated manufacturing environments.

* 5 years successfully managing complex and risky projects

* Demonstrated experience in leading diverse teams

* PMP certification


* Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to develop and communicate the project objectives, inspire and motivate staff, and maintain alignment with the business strategy.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to speak to technical-level staff and summarize communications for executive consumption.

* Excellent project management skills, with demonstrated track record across a range of project types.

* Excellent management and team-building skills.

* Significant knowledge of project planning/scheduling tools with a solid track record of practical application.

* Ability to analyze, understand and effectively communicate between business requirements and technical design and implementation.

* Business application life cycle management.

* System development life cycle management.

* Budget planning and management.

* Working knowledge of applications being implemented.
