Job Description

Vaco is partnered with a Clinical Research Organization in the Triangle to find an IT PM to work within the PMO on various Clinical Systems projects. These projects can be custom applications or COTS solutions through third party vendors.

The IT PM must be able to operate with limited oversight and will need to command the respect of a broad range of business and technology stakeholders. The IT PM is expected to be an expert at risk mitigation, being able to not just develop mitigation plans for already known risks, but continually finding the risks in the project that have not yet been identified.

Specific Skills and Experiences
  • Experience managing programs of work consisting of multiple, interdependent projects
  • Experience managing technology delivery with a Product Management approach (vs. Project Management)
  • Experience managing data-intensive projects, including the cleansing and aggregation of disparate data sources and the summarization / reporting of that data via key business metrics
Project Planning
  • Coordinate all key project meetings, phone calls, meeting rooms, etc
  • Work with business stakeholders and vendor to finalize and get signoff on detailed scope of the project in line with the high level scope set forth in any Statements of Work (SoW) & project charters
  • Develop and get signoff on the Project Strategy document, the "plan of plans", including, but not limited to, the communications plan, project team structure, recurring meeting (including steering) frequency, etc

Candidates will have:

  • Professional system implementation / project management experience

  • Relevant Pharmaceutical / CRO industry experience

  • Experience managing global IT projects

  • PMP is preferred
