Job Description

The Ideal candidate will be a CPA with a minimum of 5 years of public accounting experience. The Audit Senior becomes involved in more advanced projects while continuing to develop client knowledge and skills. The right person for this position will be someone with Public Accounting experience, including management of audit engagements. Non-profit experience a plus.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Performing the preparation of compilation, review and audit engagements in a lead role
  • Lead/manage potential audit teams of 2-5 staff members over the course of engagement and provide technical guidance to team while out in the field or in office
  • Understands the rules, regulations, and Code of Professional Conduct of the AICPA, pronouncements of the FASB, and when assigned to governmental engagements, the GAO and GASB
  • Functions as primary staff during audit field work
  • Communicate engagement status with Audit Manager/Partner in a timely and ongoing basis
  • Recognize, research and perform moderately complex accounting areas of the clients' balance sheet and income statements
  • Ensure the completion of clients' working papers, footnotes, management letters, financial requirements and annual reports on a timely and accurate basis as needed
  • Build client relationships and maintains positive working relationship
  • Perform other duties as assigned by partners

  • Ability to effectively operate office equipment and computer programs
  • Able to work effectively with staff members, clients, and vendors
  • Local travel may be required to complete client audits

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5 years Public Accounting experience, including management of audit engagements
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in similar role preferred
  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or related field
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred, but not required
