A Westside startup is looking for a Controller to join their team. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will be responsible for working with external auditors, managing month-end close, and building out a team. To be successful in this role, the Controller will need to have great communication skills, analytical, and be startup capable as this person is building things from the ground up. What do you need for this Controller role?

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 15+ years of accounting experience
• CPA and/or public accounting experience preferred
• Must have strong technical accounting acumen
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP
• Advanced Excel
• Experience with inventory, retail, or entertainment production lets you cut the line!

What will you do in this Controller role?

• Lead month-end close for all locations
• Lead year-end audit
• Be hands on in developing out accounting and eventually hire, train, and develop a Senior Accountant and Accounting Manager
• Line up the P&L with debits and credits
• Manage closing the books
• Act as liaison for technical accounting matters
• Create monthly financial statements
• Ad-hoc reporting and projects
