As a Controller, you will serve as a financial expert for our client. This involves handling a variety of general to complex accounting functions, providing analytical support, and supervising staff.

Controller Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of the accounting team including developing appropriate goals and objectives, providing guidance and coaching, and holding team accountable
  • Responsible for design, implementation, and monitoring of the Company's internal controls
  • Responsible for month end processes including closing books, preparing and reviewing journal entries, and preparing and reviewing account reconciliations on a timely and accurate basis
  • Coordinate all aspects of the annual audit and tax reporting
  • Manage and coordinate banking activities and reporting
  • Establish and enforce repeatable processes and drive a culture of continuous improvement
  • Comply with local, state, and federal laws regarding reporting, sales & use tax filings and other reporting as required
  • Integrate acquired businesses into the Company's financial reporting structure
  • Manage and monitor all aspects of the Company's leasing programs
  • Work closely with Human Resources on payroll and union related reporting

Controller Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business; equivalent education and/or experience considered.
    • Master's degree, CPA preferred.
  • Directly related experience including:
    • 7+ years in a controllership or accounting manager role
    • Strong financial acumen, demonstrated analytical ability, and knowledge of corporate finance as well as manufacturing accounting
    • Prior audit / public accounting experience preferred
    • Industry experience preferred
  • Ability to think both analytically and creatively, and high-level organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and execute on multiple actions timely and effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal/interpersonal communication skills; able to effectively communicate across multiple levels of the organization including senior management
  • Team player able to work well in a group and take direction, as well as an individual contributor able to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience implementing /upgrading ERP preferred
  • Fluent with MS Office including advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Job costing experience
  • Ability to travel as necessary
