Role with the Company:

The company is growing and as a result, they're looking to expand their leadership team, adding a Controller to their growing Finance team. They're seeking a well-rounded leader with a solid depth of knowledge of accounting guidance, policies, procedures, and internal controls. The successful Controller will be energized by the challenges of driving transformation required by their growth. Reports to CFO with dotted line to VP-Finance while transitioning Controller duties.

SOME OF WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Lead, manage, and grow their great accounting team
  • Prepare and interpret financial information, including financial statements, GL ledgers, and other reports in an accurate and timely manner
  • Prepare and distribute budget packages and work closely with operations groups to manage costs and resources
  • Complete and continue to improve integration of invoicing process with new CRM platform
  • Oversee multi-state payroll ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations
  • Track and slice/dice labor hours by project, by client to
  • Research GAAP issues
  • Direct purchasing and payables activity including vendor contract management
  • Manage all external audits
  • Evaluate and implement accounting and finance-related software
  • Develop and enforce internal controls
  • Create and implement policies and procedures

Background profile:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field; CPA preferred
  • 10+ years in accounting including at least 5 years in supervisory roles
  • Experience in public accounting auditing public companies or working at a large public company preferred, with ability to implement internal controls and identify risks
  • Managed/Lead a team of at least 10 people; proven success building high-performing teams and processes
  • Managed complex processes and software implementations, with continuous process improvement mindset
  • Interaction and effective communication across all levels of business people, internal and external
  • Expert use of MS Excel
  • Experience tracking and analyzing payroll and labor hours preferred
  • Exhibited Attitude of Service and teamwork with a "Get it Done" approach
