The Controller is responsible for all financial accounting functions including monthly close cycle, financial analysis, financial reporting, and budgeting. Responsible for managing accounting functions in accordance with GAAP and providing owner with relevant financial results.
- Perform all financial operations including month-end close procedures and preparation of monthly financial reports
- Manage working capital
- Oversee cash management activities
- Forecast cash requirements
- Prepare monthly financial statements
- Review the general ledger and complete supporting reconciliations and journal entries
- Manage Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable function
- Oversee payroll administration in collaboration with third party processor
- Ensure banks receive appropriate reporting each month
- Identify, analyze, and resolve accounting and operational matters with vendors, customers, and banks
- Develop internal controls, accounting policies and procedures
- Preparation of short- and long-term financial forecasts and budgets
- Coordinate with project managers on budgets, spending controls, labor, and franchise tax
- Conduct financial analysis; develop and present management reporting
- Work with CPA firm on all tax filings
- Coordinate and conduct periodic inventory cycle counts
- Handle all HR function activities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 10+ years of Accounting Manager/Controller-level hands-on, full cycle GL experience to include posting journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end close processes, analytics
- Experience in a single-person accounting department in privately held, entrepreneurial environments
- Knowledge of GAAP standards
- Inventory accounting experience preferred
- Experience setting up best practice financial infrastructure
- HR function experience a plus
- Advanced Excel and Word skills
Salary: $95K - $115K
Schedule: hybrid remote/WFH after first 4 - 8 weeks
