Job Description

Objectives

Responsible for the management of the firm's Accounting function and oversight of the day to day accounting responsibilities of the firm's global businesses. Specifically responsible to:

  • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial information
  • Ensure the adequacy, existence and operation of financial controls
  • Provide management input and support to the business to improve future financial performance
  • Responsible for the firm's operational and management reporting

General Accounting Responsibilities

  • Ensure any financial irregularities, abuses and frauds are brought directly to the attention of the CFO/COO
  • Build, manage, develop, control and appraise a solid and responsive Accounting function
  • Support the selection and implementation of new IT platforms
  • Manage the preparation of timely and accurate weekly and monthly financial and management reports and analyses
  • Ensure the proper close of the monthly books including the preparation of balance sheets, account reconciliations and proof of sundry accounts
  • Manage the preparation of the annual, semi-annual and monthly reporting in accordance with the prescribed timetable
  • Ensure accounting procedures and policies are followed
  • Manage the preparation of accounting schedules and management accounts in accordance with US GAAP
  • Keep abreast of developments and best practice in financial reporting, accounting and financial management
  • Ensure statutory accounts and related filings (including tax) are made, as required, in a timely manner and are prepared to minimise
  • Ensure that financial controls are in place and monitored appropriately in light of current business needs, risks and corporate governance requirements
  • Ensure that employees comply with policies and procedures-billing, voucher, travel, reporting, etc.
  • Ensure that auditors' management letters are responded to by the due date
  • Provide actual and forecast financial information and analyses to assist management with managing key indicators including billing, utilization and EBITDA
  • Liaise closely with HR in respect of payroll, bonus and vacation related matters (including ensuring vacation is taken on a timely basis)
  • Work with COO/CFO to manage receivables and minimise DRO
  • Support the team in maximising cash flows and monitor compliance with government regulations

Management Reporting

  • Work to ensure ongoing operational performance measurement of businesses is adequate and is consistent with internal and past benchmarks
  • Produce timely and accurate weekly operations reports by the end of each week
  • Each month produce timely and accurate management accounts and operational performance results comparing performance to plan and budget
  • Provide actual and forecast financial information with appropriate analysis and commentary to assist executive management with managing key indicators including billing, saturation and contribution

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years Accounting experience minimum
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required, Master's Degree preferred
  • CPA required
  • Experience job costing and cost control principles including GAAP
  • Advanced Knowledge of Excel and QuickBooks
