Job Description

Vaco is partnering with a Denver-based construction company to find an experienced Controller to lead the accounting department of the organization. This position will act as a true business partner working closely with leadership and ownership.

Location: Denver
Expected Compensation: $100 - 120K salary + benefits

• Oversee full organizational accounting operations including month-end close, financial statement preparation and monthly reporting, AP/AR, payroll, fixed assets, cash management, annual audit process, compliance and internal controls
• Establish and coordinate all accounting procedures for the business unit
• Build an outstanding accounting function from the bottom up and manage accounting direct and indirect reports
• Responsible for variance analysis, budgeting and forecasting
• Assist in the integration of newly acquired companies
• Oversee Payroll and Human Resources

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; MBA or master's degree preferred
• 7-10 years of overall accounting experience with 3+ years experience as assistant controller or manager
• Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, tax and banking working knowledge
• Prior experience with budgeting, forecasting, and analysis required
• Private equity backed company experience, or high-growth company experience, highly preferred
• CPA or public accounting experience not required, but nice to have
