CONTROLLER - Work from home, relocation assistance available!

This growing, profitable company is looking for an experienced Corporate Controller who thrives in a fast-paced environment. This position will have the ability to work remote the majority of the time, but must live in, or relocate to, the Raleigh-Durham area. The selected candidate will have a collaborative mindset and will have a strong comfort level with accounting systems and Excel. CPA is required. Public accounting experience is preferred. Managerial experience is required as is experience as a Controller in a mid-sized organization. This company requires proof of Covid-19 vaccine status. Relocation assistance is available.

The ideal candidate has the following attributes:
* 13+ years of experience, including 3+ years as a controller at a mid-sized company with foreign subsidiaries in a high-growth industry
* Excellent management skills, including leading a large accounting team
* An effective leader of the monthly close and financial reporting cycle ensuring quality, scalability and reduced days to close
* Experience managing the external audit to timeline and budget, while minimizing year end audit exceptions
* US GAAP expert, with strong revenue recognition, foreign exchange and stock plan accounting skills
* Experience implementing accounting systems or features and controls to drive automation, accuracy and scale
* Success in public accounting CPA firm, including senior responsibilities

Responsibilities:
* Oversees and develops the accounting team including direct and indirect reports. The team has responsibility for all accounting operational functions including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cash management and payroll.
* Provides leadership and vision for scaling the accounting team, processes and controls to support continued high-growth; fostering culture of teamwork, a positive "can-do" attitude and continuous improvement
* Implements and maintains accounting policies and internal controls
* Sound judgment and proactive communication with all stakeholders including team members, peers and the executive leadership team
* Strong people skills including the ability to work cross-functionally to develop and improve processes and procedures
* Maintains relationships with external tax firms and bankers

Education, Certifications, Skills
* Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Accounting or Finance is required. MS/MA (Accounting) is preferred.
* Active CPA required
* Expert level MS Excel skills and comfort with the remaining MS Office Suite
