Our client, a Private Equity backed Consumer Services company based in Denver, has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Controller to join their rapidly growing team.

As the company's first Controller and reporting to the CFO, you will be joining the founding team in a ground-floor opportunity to build an industry-leading company. As the Controller, you will serve as a financial expert and handle a variety of general to complex accounting functions, providing analytical support, and supervising staff.

This position is based out of Denver, CO and offers a HYBRID SCHEDULE WITH ONLY ONE DAY IN THE OFFICE.

Position: Corporate Controller

Location: Downtown Denver Office w/ Hybrid-remote schedule. Only 1 day in-office!
Expected Compensation: $130 - $160K salary + benefits

Expected Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee full organizational accounting operations including month-end close, financial statement preparation and monthly reporting, AP/AR, payroll, fixed assets, cash management, annual audit process, compliance and internal controls
  • Establish and coordinate all accounting procedures for the business unit
  • Build an outstanding accounting function from the bottom up and manage accounting direct and indirect reports
  • Investigating significant trends/variances in financial data
  • Write and maintain technical accounting memos and procedures such as ASC606, ASC805, and ASC842
  • Select and implement accounting tools and technologies, including ERP implementation
  • Partner with leadership teams across the organization including Operations, Human Resources, Marketing, IT, and Development in a fast-paced and continuous improvement environment

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; MBA or master's degree preferred
  • 7-10 years of hands-on accounting management experience with extensive experience managing direct reports across various accounting roles and responsibilities
  • Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, tax and banking working knowledge
  • Significant experience with various accounting software, including Quickbooks
  • US GAAP knowledge, public accounting and CPA preferred
  • Strong written, verbal and collaboration skills, with ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables at the same time
