What you need to have for this Controller role:

  • Eight (8) to Fourteen (14) years of progressive accounting experience (some experience with a Big 4 or large regional firm required)
  • U.S. GAAP experience
  • Four (4) years of more of direct supervisory experience
  • Experience working with an ERP system, SAP experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • CPA required
  • Proven critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Comprehensive, strong communication skills

What you will be doing in this Controller role:

  • Coordinating timely and accurate reporting of all financial accounting across the organization
  • Leading preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, including footnote disclosures and consolidations
  • Staying up-to-date with accounting research findings and the latest technical accounting standards
  • Maintaining internal controls over financial reporting
  • Advising staff on how to handle non-routine accounting transactions
  • Serving as an advisor to other department leaders on improving processes and workflows, internal controls, and enhanced use of systems and automation
  • Leading proactive communications with external auditors on financial statements, disclosures, handling of non-routine accounting issues, and preparation of audit schedules
  • Working with direct reports to establish goals and objectives for each year, providing training, mentoring, and monitoring progress to enhance the professional development of staff
