Corporate Accounting Manager

Vaco is excited to partner with one of our clients in the metro-Atlanta area who is looking to add a new Corporate Accounting Manager to their team. This role was created due to the growth they are experiencing. The Accounting Manager will lead the close process, consolidate all divisional work, handle financial reporting, and more. This is a fast-paced environment, so they will need someone with strong project management/organizational skills. This role reports directly to the Corporate Controller who has a Big 4 pedigree.

This role could be perfect for someone coming straight from Public Accounting, but they are open to a blend of public and industry experience.

Note: This role is 100% on site. All Covid requirements are closely followed.

Job Description:

  • Consolidate financial results and align corporate requirements
  • Timely, accurate and complete financial reporting
  • Manage all aspects of the General Ledger
  • Supervise preparation of monthly journal entries and review monthly reconciliations
  • Prepare Monthly, Quarterly, and Year-end reports
  • Lead month end close, including process improvements, optimized use of centers of excellence to drive efficiency in reporting and close
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, research accounting issues and implement new standards
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls and segregation of duties
  • Drive system enhancements and improvements
  • Coordinate financial audits and lead standardization and improvements
  • Leadership, mentoring, training & development of local controllers and accounting staff
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks as necessary

Education/ Experience:

  • BA/ BS degree in Accounting or related field
  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant company financial accounting/ reporting experience
  • CPA or CPA Tracking preferred
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Manufacturing cost accounting experience is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Proficient in Word and PowerPoint are desired
  • Additional Preferred Experience: Business Process Improvement and Auditing, Financial Reporting, Financial Analysis, Budgeting, Management, Accounting, and Strategic Planning
