Job Description

Are you ready to take the next step in your career? Our Vaco client is hiring a Controller to join their fast-paced organization. The Controller will oversee the monthly and quarterly forecasted statements, month end close, general ledger account reconciliations, accounts payable, sales & use tax compliance, and design and execution of internal control policies. Responsibilities also include preparation, maintenance, accuracy, and timeliness of monthly/yearly financial statements.

Responsibilities

  • Research new accounting guidance and work collaboratively with the CFO and the company's auditors to implement changes in compliance with GAAP.
  • Manage, update, and implement internal financial controls, policy & procedures, and safeguards.
  • Manage all local tax compliance requirements
  • Prepare and provide monthly financial statements.
  • Prepare and provide monthly analysis of financial performance including KPI's, variance reports, reconciliation, and GAAP compliance.
  • Responsible for evaluating the performance of direct and indirect report personnel in the Accounting Department and fostering an environment of continuous development.
  • Manage all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial systems & reporting.
  • Manage the entire balance sheet to include cash, investments, A/R, inventory, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, A/P, accruals, deferred revenue, other liabilities, etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in accounting/business preferred
  • 8- 10 years of accounting experience
  • Prior experience in public accounting and an active CPA license preferred
  • Experience with SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Hyperion, Oracle, or other large ERP systems
  • Prior experience working in a publicly traded company with familiarity of Sarbanes Oxley controls
  • Passion for training, coaching, and managing a high-achieving team
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and technical capabilities
  • Requires strong oral and written communications skills, computer literacy, and professional presentation.
