Our client in the Newport Beach area is currently seeking a Finance Project Manager to join their team on a consulting basis. The ideal consultant will have 7+ years of experience in project management skills, techniques, and methodologies (Waterfall and Agile) in a finance department.

Job Duties May Include:

  • Works with and provides strategic and tactical plans to the Program Manager - Corporate Strategic PMO regarding execution and standards in fulfillment of department, division and/or enterprise needs
  • Direct and manage multiple and complex enterprise-wide projects/programs of large to x-large size and their respective project teams of varying sizes and backgrounds that may expand across the enterprise
  • Establish, analyze, and maintain scope, project plans, resources, report progress as required, generate risk assessments, escalate issues, facilitate project review presentations and meetings related to the projects/programs involving multiple stakeholders
  • Preferred experience with Legal, Compliance projects, Financial Reporting, and/or Accounting business processes/systems implementations
  • Serves as a liaison between Corporate Finance, Enterprise Risk Management, and other Divisions. Develop, foster, and manage relationships with project/program sponsor(s) for influence in effective decision making as well as all levels of management including C-level, operations, business analysts, change management resources and business staff
  • Support change management at the organizational level, coordinating efforts with the Change Management Center of Excellence, other Change Practitioners, change-enabling roles of project manager, project team and SMEs
  • Partner and assist management with the utilization of resources for project/program planning activities across the enterprise. Apply a structured methodology and lead change management activities to create actionable deliverables for the five change management levers: communications plan, sponsor roadmap, coaching plan, training plan, resistance management plan
Requirements:

  • Experience with building governance and frameworks in Finance and Enterprise Risk Management with a strong business acumen preferred (e.g., In-depth knowledge of financial services industry products, services, markets, and technology across the business value chain)
  • Strong in critical thinking, data analysis and reporting, risk and controls, and process improvement
  • 7+ years progressive experience in project/program management skills, techniques and methodology (Waterfall & Agile), strategic management and/or management consulting
  • Highly skilled in MS productivity tools, including MS Project, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Visio, and collaboration tools
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, exhibit poise and exercise diplomacy in communication, ability to influence others toward consensus, conflict management and decision-making
  • Must be a self-starter, have demonstrated experience in a lead role, be well organized, effectively managing their time and be a strong leader who can adapt rapidly to new developments and changing priorities
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, MBA, CFA, CPA, or other relevant study, or equivalent experience in a relevant field such as PMO, Training Development or Marketing, is foundational. PMP certifications highly preferred as well as Change management certification or designation desired; Prosci Certification a plus
