Job Description

Vaco is hiring for a Financial Controller located in Oakland Park, FL.

PURPOSE
Support Director of Accounting & Finance, serving as the key accounting and financial reporting authority and is responsible for the timeliness, accuracy, and completion of all financial information. The Controller also supports tax accounting and risk management.

DELIVERABLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Establishes and sustains optimal process controls & systems that ensure integrity & security of company's financial information
* Ensures compliance with governmental laws, GAAP and Audit standards, and internal processes & policies
* Ensures accuracy and timeliness of financial information, reporting, product costing and analysis to support sound business decision-making
* Mitigates company's risk, including assisting with Insurance Portfolio, legal matters, and Contingency Planning
* Continuously reviews and improves finance compliance, procedures, and processes
* Completes consolidation of all legal entities
* Responsible for timely monthly closing process
* Submits accurate financial reporting to parent company

2. Supports effective and efficient use of company's resources to maximize profitability, including:
* Performance of company's financial functions, including A/R, A/P, Payroll, Treasury, Costing, Inventory Valuation, and financial reporting
* Manages and optimizes use of company Assets (e.g., Cash, A/R, inventory, equipment, investments, etc.)
* Provides financial information and guidance to assist company managers and teams
* Leads treasury activities and interface with banking partners

3. Supports FP&A activities

4. Assists in building and developing a highly performing Finance & Accounting team
* Models Q'Straint values and behaviors, always acting in a manner consistent with the Q'Straint Code of Business and Ethics
* Manages individual performance, personal development, and training (Assistant Controller, Accounts Receivable Representative and Accounts Payable Representative)
* Assists with recruiting and developing (coaching & mentoring) highly effective individuals that fit company's values and culture

5. Performs other duties according to business needs

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience & Skills)

* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA, CPM or Masters in Accounting preferred
* Minimum of 8 years of accounting experience
* 5+ years in a management role within the finance/Accounting field.
* 5+ years' experience in a Manufacturing Environment
* Demonstrated Leadership & Management skills (coaching, motivating, team building)
* Demonstrated Analytical, Critical-Thinking and Problem-Solving skills, especially as it relates to complex financial matters, often in fast-paced and stressful environments.
* Demonstrated excellent Communication skills (verbal and written at all levels)
* Ability to build positive relationships within the company; communicate complex financial information in an easy-to-understand manner.
