Job Description

CONTROLLER

A local, fast-growing organization is in need of a Controller. The controller will report directly to the CFO. Key responsibilities are to work closely with operations and management for reporting and analysis, monthly financial preparation and reporting including budgeting, and to assist and direct the development of internal control procedures, standards, and compliance as it pertains to the Sarbanes Oxley Act and to insure adherence to generally accepted accounting principles.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Analyze financial transactions, data, etc.
  • Prepare/review and post journal entries
  • Execute the period-end (monthly) financial close process
  • Complete the period-end reporting packages and financial statements
  • Present monthly financial results to VP Finance
  • Manage up to 5 staff members on the team
  • Manage the General Ledger, including accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, payroll and inventory.
  • Preparation of financial information for strategic planning and budgeting purposes.
  • Provision and interpretation of timely periodic management information showing actual performance against budget.
  • Ensure compliance with all GAAP requirements.
  • Carrying out ad-hoc financial projects as required by the CFO and CEO

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years in an accounting or finance position
  • CPA or CPA tracking preferred
  • Management experience manditory
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Advanced excel skills (tested)
  • Proven track record of accountability, driving results, prioritizing deadlines and projects while staying focused with multiple responsibilities in a collaborative team environment.
  • Proven team leader, collaborative decision-making and work style.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in driving financial process improvements.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal; effective presenter to executive management
