Job Description

Vaco has partered with an incredible client that is in need of a Corporate Controller for their healthcare practice. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity that has tremendous growth opportunity. This organization runs lean, so this Controller will be fully hands-on with only a few support staff and reporting directly to the CFO. This client is offering an attractive pay rate/salary that is above-market.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing accounting and financial reporting
  • Establishing and coordinating all accounting procedures
  • Investigating significant trends/variances in financial data
  • Handling AP, AR, Payroll, Tax functions as well as Cost and Inventory Accounting
  • Providing daily and/or weekly analysis, and reporting on operational performance as it relates to the business activities including monitoring margins, variances, and giving feedback
  • Assisting in the formulation of the budget and preparing the monthly budget variance analyses
  • Government contracting and RFP/Contract Management process
  • System conversion/implementation

As Controller, you will serve as a financial expert for our client. This involves handling a variety of general to complex accounting functions, providing analytical support, and supervising staff.

Type of business: Healthcare

Role: Hands-on Controller

Requirements: Full cycle accounting - supported by one AP clerk and one AR clerk. Needs to understand Government Contracting and the RFP/Contract management process

System: Oracle, but will be changing and the new system hasn't been confirmed - need to be familiar with system changes

Start: end of August

Expected length of contract: indefinite - preference is Contract-to-Hire

Size of department: Director/CFO and 2-3 support staff

Summary: Help with private-equity spin off from a public company and then transition to growth mode. Conduct day-to-day consistent accounting and finance activities. Will include full cycle accounting and treasury responsibilities. Role will continue to go and evolve as carve-out grows and evolves.
