Project Manager Methodology: PM decides appropriate methodology depending on the project: waterfall, agile, scrum. Will only need to report high-level KPI's to manager. Needs to have a driver personality, and tough skin to lead effectively.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensures technologies are implemented in adherence to IT standards and policies.
- Works with project stakeholders to ensure decisions align with the infrastructure strategies defined by the IT Infrastructure Program Manager.
- Ensure successful and cooperative completion of tasks and projects and to resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Communicates project and team status to internal and external audiences to keep project team informed. Primary accountability is to manage small to medium complexity IT Infrastructure Projects.
- Responsible for all aspects of project management keeping projects on time, within budget, and within scope
- This Project Manager must understand technology and have come up through the IT Engineering ranks to be successful in this role.
- Will manage the IT resource teams (Network Engineers, IT Engineers) and drive their tasks.
- Will maintain IT vendor and user relationships and communicate status and problems in a timely, professional manner as evidenced by status reports.
- Establishes and maintains positive client/vendor relations.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years working as an IT Infrastructure Project Manager
- Minimum 3-5 years past professional experience as a Network Engineer working with switches, Routers, VOIP and Wireless Access Points
- Minimum 3-5 years Windows Server Administration
- Must have experience troubleshooting network connectivity issues
- PMP Certification strongly desired
- Cisco and Microsoft Certifications are also strongly desired
Projects may include one or more of the following:
- Replacement of SAN storage solutions for multiple locations
- Equipment refresh including the replacement of routers, switches, wireless devices, etc.
- VDI implementation
- Network segmentation
- MFA desktop deployment
- Update Identity Management system
