Bootcamp Instructor Qualifications

We are looking for seasoned software development professionals. Technical excellence is required but not sufficient. Our instructors must also be excellent communicators and dedicated mentors, with a passion for developing future IT professionals.

The following technical experience is required for a Bootcamp Instructor:

  • 8+ years experience developing software systems
  • Completely fluent in either Java or C#
  • Very comfortable writing SQL queries and designing database table schemas
  • Proficient with client side web programming tools and techniques including HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, JQuery, and Bootstrap

In addition we expect our instructors to be able to:

  • Think on their feet and lead fluid class discussions that may deviate from planned lectures.
  • Enhance and illustrate course material with appropriate analogies and real world examples.
  • Explain and model the qualities of a professional software developer.
  • Have high empathy, patience, and ability to encourage students who are struggling, provide additional challenges to students who are excelling, and always provide and encourage open and honest communication.

Prior teaching experience is a plus, but not required.

This is an opportunity that is with a coding bootcamp that teaches students to become junior software developers through an intensive 14 week program that leads to a fulfilling career. Students who are passionate about technology and coding come from a variety of backgrounds and industries and are filtered based on aptitude testing and behavioral interviews before being accepted.

The program, which helps students rapidly acquire code development skills through their .NET and Java tracks, is delivered in-person by master software developers with deep industry experience. This program also fully supports student career goals through an extensive hiring network, and through a soft skills and career development track called the Pathway Programâ„¢.
