Job Description

OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking an Interim Controller for future consulting opportunities with our clients in various markets in the United States.

The Interim Controller will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of the company's financial statements and managing accounting processes including month-end, quarterly reporting, AP/AR, account reconciliations, coordination of audits, and internal controls. Additionally, the Controller will be involved in FP&A, finance transformation, software implementations and M&A transactions. Controller will report directly to the CFO and will be expected to provide leadership to the rest of the accounting group.

Other responsibilities of the consulting positions include:

  • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements as per US GAAP.
  • Coordinate the preparation of internal management and regulatory reporting.
  • Prepare due diligence documents related to merger & acquisition transactions involving the organization.
  • Oversee and improve business processes, data migration and analyze large data sets.
  • Assist with the implementation of new ERP software and identify other software needs.
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
  • Support month-end and year-end close process.
  • Ensure accuracy of financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Additional duties as required.


Skills and experiences:

  • Experienced in a minimum of two to three industries (healthcare services, technology, business services, or manufacturing).
  • 10+ years of demonstrated hands-on operational leadership in accounting at the corporate or divisional level.
  • Experience working in publicly traded or private equity-owned companies ranging from $50M+ in revenue.
  • Strong track record of leading initiatives such as M&A transactions (buy or sell), external audits, business process transformation, implementing new accounting guidance, compliance, financial reporting, system implementations, and optimizing the controllership function.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis in Excel using pivot tables and v-lookups
  • Experience using ERP software - SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics suite. Ideally, has led 1+ ERP implementations.
  • Thorough knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS
  • Big 4 or national public accounting experience (preferred)
  • Certified Public Accountant (preferred)
