We are working with a strong Birmingham employer who is looking for a part - time Controller. Let Vaco introduce you to a unique opportunity to manage a small manufacturing business.

This role will be responsible for all accounting duties within the organization. Our client is looking for a candidate who wants to put in 30-35 hours per week. This role will have incredible flexibility and work in a positive and family-oriented environment. If this sounds like what you are looking for, please apply! You could be making up to $65K.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform month end close duties
  • Prepare financial statements and analysis
  • Supervise/manage the accounting clerks
  • Maintain the general ledger and all subsidiary ledger reconciliations
  • Review payroll to ensure accuracy
  • Assist in the management of day-to-day operations within the accounting department such as accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank activity
  • Assist other departments in resolving transactions and issues affecting the various financial systems
  • Coordinate information preparation for taxes and various audits with outside CPA firm as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 3+ years of Manufacturing or related industry experience REQUIRED
  • Solid understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structure
  • Ability to analyze and retrieve data to evaluate performance and make recommendations
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
