Job Description

Payroll Accountant

  • Prepare payroll input in payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
  • Manage the workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed correctly and on time
  • Audit payroll for accuracy on a regular basis
  • Work closely with HR to input employee changes i.e. new hire, terminations, salary changes and bonuses.
  • Prepare journal entries for payroll and other accruals
  • Calculate commission and bonus payments as needed
  • Check trial and final payroll outputs
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations
  • Month-end close experience required
  • 941 reconciliations; prepare and distribute W2
  • Provide administrative support for 401(k) plan including preparing 401(k) funding schedules
  • Handle queries from employees, HR, Accounting, and local government offices in a timely manner
  • Prepare standard and ad hoc equity and payroll reports as requested Multi-location, multi-state payroll processing
  • Experience processing international payroll is a strong plus

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of recent, relevant experience processing payroll
  • Intermediate Excel required
  • High volume, multi-state payroll processing (800+ employees)
  • Experience working with third party payroll system (ADP, Paylocity, Paychex, etc.)
  • Experience working with an ERP experience required
