Lead a team and oversee processing of in-house multi-state payroll while contributing to the success of the Accounting and Shared Services departments. You will analyze situations, creatively adapt to solve problems, and work with other leaders to participate in planning processes and meet goals.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Supervise and support payroll specialists, ensuring that all processes are executed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Maintain Vista payroll module to ensure accurate payroll, payments and reporting with compliance requirements and company policy
  • Prepare and transmit benefit related payroll deduction files to benefits providers
  • Act as a point of contact for internal and external customers I order to accomplish payroll function
  • Develop a competent and efficient staff through supervision, guidance, and mentorship
  • Assist and monitor tasks and prepare employee performance evaluations
  • Remain competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, and attending professional development courses
  • Facilitate a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with others

Education and Experience Required:

  • 7 years progressively responsible in-house payroll management, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, payroll methods, Department of Labor regulations, federal and multiple state tax regulations
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
  • Highly proficient computer skills with emphasis on Excel. Experience with ViewPoint preferred
