Job Description

Vaco Resources has partnered with a government defense conractor client for an Interim Program Finance Manager.

This role can start as soon as the right candidate is identified and is estimated to last approximately three months. There is also potential for this to convert to a permanent position.


  • Support contract cost and pricing activities associated with federal requests for proposals and contract modifications, including detailed review of government contract awards and modifications
  • Create Estimate at Completion (EAC) detailed forecasting (Revenue, Cost, EBITA, Net Cash Flow) model
  • Responsible for direct and indirect rate pools, including budget, reporting and audit
  • Assuring all costs incurred are in accordance with the Company's Cost Accounting Standards Board Disclosure Statement (CASB DS-1)
  • Prepare indirect rate model to establish a forward pricing rate agreement in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
  • Take on lead role in financial planning and analysis, including complex financial modeling
  • Responsible for project setup based upon full understanding and interpretation of each awarded contract, and the ability to determine revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606
  • Responsible for all facets of government financial audits
  • Prepare semi-monthly cash flow projections, and enhance cash flow model and processes
  • Prepare detailed monthly variance analysis (Revenue, Cost, EBITA, Net Cash Flow), unbilled analysis and open commitment tracking/maintenance
  • Prepare invoices and ensure accurate and timely submissions of billing to customers
  • Respond to Controller as assigned with highly accurate and timely work to facilitate meeting the financial needs of the Company


  • Bachelor's, Finance strongly preferred, will also consider Accounting degrees
  • Government defense contractor experience, including
    • Demonstrated experience and strong knowledge of FAR, Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) and Joint Travel Regulations (JTR)
    • Experience interacting with and managing requests from DCAA and DCMA
    • Solid experience and understanding of accounting processes and procedures under Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS); solid understanding of US GAAP
  • Superior modeling skills in Excel
  • Deltek Costpoint experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of revenue recognition and ASC 606
