Job Description

This position located in the Project Management Office (PMO) will play a key role in project execution. The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for planning, managing, and executing all aspects of assigned projects from start to finish. The PM assumes primary responsibility and ownership of multiple assigned projects ensuring they are executed to a high-level of quality, while directing and managing scope according to the project plan, schedule, and budget. The PM builds a project plan that includes the Project Charter, Team Structure, and Project Timeline reflecting needed progress across the project lifecycle. The PM oversees the proper execution of the project plan and provides project team leadership to ensure all aspects of the project are completed successfully.

A typical day might include the following:

  • Project Execution | Manage the project tactical planning and execution phases to meet deliverables and ensure quality completion within scope, budget, and allotted time
  • Project Planning | Build and manage detailed and diverse Project Plans that include all project components and phases to ensure deadlines are met. Ensure project plans detail the scope statement, deliverables, requirements and milestones, team structure, timeline, and overall project lifecycle.
  • Partner with Business Process Analyst | Ensure alignment with key project discovery and initiation phases by incorporating project design elements into the tactical plan and ensuring delivery of the new business process improvements
  • Task Management | Utilize the bank's PM platform to develop and/or tailor the work breakdown structure that identifies and assigns all tasks and activities required for proper project completion. Lead and coordinate the Project Team ensuring the achievement of all project milestones and deliverables.
  • Resource Management | Identify and engage appropriate resources. Build strong working relationships by partnering with project teams, stakeholders, and external business partners.
  • Communication Management | Monitor and communicate project status by providing clear and concise project announcements, reports, and presentations appropriate for varying audiences including project stakeholders, external partners, and senior management. Utilize the bank's PM platform, SharePoint, MS Teams, and other appropriate channels to report and communicate project health, issues, and progress.
  • Issue Management | Manage Project Issue Log by identifying, tracking, and working with stakeholders to resolve project issues; determine when to escalate issues to appropriate levels of management
  • Risk Management | Proactively identify, monitor, and manage project opportunities, risks, and constraints
  • Change Management | Advocate for project success and partner with the Business Process Analyst to ensure full adoption and sustainability of the project product/process improvement delivered
  • Documentation Management | Manage and organize Project Document Library that includes all project documentation and records. Maintain detailed project notes and ensure project completion includes establishment of necessary references and training material.
  • Closing Management | Manage project assessments and Lessons Learned Register; provide required closeout documentation to ensure compliance with audit requirements
  • Serve as a functional manager in needed areas, if necessary (e.g., product development, system administration, training, etc.)

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, information technology or related field for equivalent experience.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of project management experience (required)

(Candidate must demonstrate a history of creating and executing detailed project plans that produced project deliverables within scope, budget, and timeline)

  • PMI-focused project management training or comparable training (required)
  • PMP (or equivalent) certification (preferred)
  • Knowledge of bank processes (deposit and loans), related systems and operations (preferred)

Computer/Software Competencies

  • PM Software: Wrike, MS Project, Smartsheet or other comparable project management tools (required)
  • Microsoft O365 Sharepoint and Teams (preferred)
  • Fiserv Premier, Director, BPM, Business Analytics and related systems (preferred)
