Vaco is working with a new Doraville located client to find a property accountant (can also be a project accountant or construction accountant). This is a contract role to cover a maternity leave that has perm potential after March 31st 2021. Targeted hourly rate is $30 - $35.

Job Description:

The Property Accountant is responsible for overseeing the General Ledger and financial reporting to internal and external parties for an assigned portfolio of properties. This role routinely coordinates with operational personnel, Regional Managers, and other accounting team members. The Property Accountant is responsible for the accuracy of the financial statements of each entity and for reconciling all related accounts. In addition, the Property Accountant supports on-site staff as it relates to accounting sub-ledgers and provides due diligence reporting and analysis as necessary to other departments.

Responsibilities (other duties or special projects may be assigned):
  • Monthly review and maintenance of the General Ledger for assigned portfolio
  • Monthly production of financial statements for assigned portfolio
  • Reconciliation of all Balance Sheet and bank accounts
  • Review of month-end reporting produced by operational personnel
  • Coordination with operational personnel to ensure accurate and timely reporting
  • Review and entry of bi-weekly payroll expenses to the General Ledger
  • Accounts payable review and vendor payment selection
  • Cash flow analysis and distribution projections
  • Calculation and processing of monthly management fees
  • Quarterly and annual reporting to lenders
  • Escrow account reconciliation and maintenance; capital reserve requests
  • Input and maintenance of annual budgets into Yardi
  • Assembly of necessary reports and information as requested by external auditors
  • Set-up and maintenance of properties and accounts within Yardi Accounting
  • Understand and comply with GAAP and internal policies and procedures

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2+ Years of property management accounting experience (or project accountant, job cost accountant, construction accountant)
  • In depth knowledge of property management accounting software, Real Pages or Yardi preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Deadline-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
