Salesforce Architect/ Developer

The Salesforce Solutions Architect is responsible for the strategic development and administration of Salesforce.com system implementation. This person will need to demonstrate an understanding of software engineering concepts and be responsible for working on full life cycle engineering efforts using Agile methodologies, object-oriented design, and accepted design patterns and practices. Candidates will be working collaboratively with client and project teams as well as working from proposal development to deployment and support.

Areas of responsibility:

  • Provide leadership for SFDC projects to provide continuous improvement of the installation.
  • Meet with clients to determine business, functional and technical requirements and participate in application design, configuration, testing, and deployment
  • As part of the Global IT organization, implement our mission-critical enterprise Salesforce platform based on business requirements provided by the functional business units - Lab Operations, Customer Service, Billing, Finance and Sales/Marketing.
  • Manage functional day-to-day operations of SFDC.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Salesforce users and business stakeholders providing maintenance, configuration, and user support.
  • Participate in full software development life cycle including requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, maintenance, and documentation.
  • Analyze system operations and make recommendations for system updates and changes.
  • Perform configuration and customization of the Salesforce.com platform.
  • Participate in efforts to develop and execute testing, training and documentation
  • Participate in the sales cycle as needed (solution definition, pre-sales, estimating and project planning)
  • Willing to be hands-on in producing tangible deliverables (requirements specifications, design deliverables, status reports, project plans)
  • Utilize best practices to perform operational support, enhancements, bug fixes as needed to the Salesforce.com platform
  • Develop and implement best practice procedures to address data integrity and data entry issues as identified, create solutions to proactively identify and resolve integrity issues.
  • Follow all standard operating procedures (SOP) and maintain updated ticketing for events, incidents, requests, changes, problems, etc.
  • Proactively engage on continuous improvement efforts for application design, support, and practice development efforts.
  • Perform new user setup, business sales territory updates, and new feature rollouts and training.
  • Provide technical assistance and end user troubleshooting for bug fixes, enhancements, and "how-to" assistance.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years experience as a Salesforce Solutions Architect
  • Experience developing Salesforce Communities
  • Experience in Apex Code, Visualforce, JavaScript and HTML coding
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems preferred
  • Experience developing in a regulatory environment is a plus
  • Salesforce Certified (Administrator or Advanced Administrator) would be a plus
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology industry is a plus
  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge and experience with complex business systems integration as well as object-oriented design patterns and development
  • Interested in developing their professional network through participation in technology user groups, networking events, and technology organizations.

  • A desire to work within a fast-paced, collaborative, and team-based support environment

Skill requirements:

  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced experience with SFDC including triggers, profiles, permission sets, sharing rules, and role hierarchy.
  • Experienced with complex SFDC implementations involving multiple system integrations and user base of varied experience.
  • Experience developing external customer portals with SFDC Communities.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple critical projects with high attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of salesforce data integrations including use of data loader and third-party tools.
  • Experience developing SFDC business workflow and SFDC APIs.
  • Excellent written & verbal communications skills.
