A West Los Angeles biotechnology company is looking for a Senior Accountant to support the daily accounting function of its company.

What you need for this Senior Accountant role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • At least five years of experience in a biotechnology company, in a public traded company and/or public accounting
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems
  • Ability to work well in a dynamic, results oriented and cross-functional team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential in this collaborative work environment
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced small company environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities
  • High energy level and a positive outlook coupled with the requisite "can do" attitude and a willingness to do what it takes to achieve personal and organizational goals and overcome obstacles

What you will be doing in this Senior Accountant role - You will:

  • Support annual budget preparation, gross profit analysis, and respective quarterly forecasts
  • Support month-end close by preparing financial packages to upper management
  • Analyze and compare monthly and quarterly financial results and key performance indicators against planned and other internal benchmarks
  • Make recommendations to executive leadership on methods to improve and sustain profitability
  • Lead special projects as required

What's in this Senior Accountant role for you:

  • Manage the day-to-day general ledger accounting processes
  • Including preparation of journal entries and monthly/quarterly reconciliations
  • Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information
  • Assist with implementation of ERP system
  • Assist with development and implement internal control policies, procedures for SOX 404 compliance, and internal audit requests
  • Manage intercompany transactions, cross charges, intercompany debt, consolidations and eliminations.
  • Manage foreign exchange rates and transactions.
  • Interacting with foreign accounting shared services teams.
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service
  • Other duties as assigned
