About Vaco:

Envision Healthcare has partnered with Vaco, a consulting and direct hire firm founded in Nashville, to find the right accounting talent for our relocation efforts from Florida to Nashville. As the exclusive talent acquisition partner for Envision Physician Services relocation, Vaco is uniquely poised to find the best people to serve in these new roles.


This position is responsible for supervising, training and reviewing the work of assigned Staff Accountants and Accounting Assistants. The Senior Accountant performs Income Statement analysis and a monthly presentation of their Envision Physician Services' financial results to a member of management. The Senior Accountant will research and assist Envision Physician Services' work paper analysis while monitoring, and if needed, implementing change to ensure best practices are being followed. This position may also provide the opportunity to participate in various special projects and financial analyses.



  • Review all journal entries for accuracy
  • Train Staff Accountants and Accounting Assistants in all aspects of accounting responsibilities for Envision Physician Services
  • Supervise Staff Accountant and Accounting Assistants with regards to technical issues ensuring compliance with accounting standards and requirements
  • Monthly Income Statement trend analysis and other preparation for review of financial reports with a member of management
  • Research and assist with Envision Physician Services work paper and reconciliation analysis
  • Monitor compliance with accounting controls and policies and correct inappropriate practices
  • Perform miscellaneous financial analyses
  • Special projects as needed
  • Regular and reliable attendance required

Computer Equipment and Software Requirements:

Accounting software; PC; Windows based spreadsheet/word processing package.


Bachelor's degree in Accounting with a minimum of three (3) years in public Accounting and /or industry experience including at least one year as a supervisor is required. CPA and / or Master's preferred. Healthcare experience is preferred, but not required.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals and percentages.

Language Skills:

Ability to understand, read, write and speak English. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to successfully write

business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information, respond to questions and professionally interact with managers, employees, clients, vendors and the general public.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to recognize and define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and correct errors. Ability to understand and interpret basic financial data. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in a variety of forms and deal with abstract and concrete variables.

Other Qualifications:

Exhibit strong knowledge of US GAAP principles. High level of competency related to knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within accounting. Must be able to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks effectively and efficiently while maintaining a professional, courteous manner. Must be able to work well with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Must be detail oriented and organized. Must be able to handle multiple tasks and assignments. High integrity, including maintenance of confidential information. Must be able to exercise good judgment and positively influence and lead others, including handling confrontations with poise and efficiency. Proficient computer skills (including, but not limited to accounting software; Windows based spreadsheet/word processing package, Internet and email) required. Based on business need, the ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends as approved in advance.
