SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Are you a CPA looking to work in an exciting and fast paced industry?! Our client, a growing software company, is looking to add a strong Senior Accountant to their finance team! This position is on a hybrid work arrangement.

The Senior Accountant's responsibilities include preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, preparing tax returns, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned. The Senior Accountant should enjoy a fast-paced environment, be a team player and have an excellent ability to prioritize individual and team objectives while developing the accounting infrastructure.

To be successful as a Senior Accountant, you should have a solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and strong financial analysis skills. An outstanding senior accountant should also possess strong Excel skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, and be able to work with little to no supervision and perform under pressure.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely execution and review of month-end and quarter-end close activities including, but not limited to preparing journal entries, account reconciliation, analysis, and reporting
  • Perform detailed review of general ledger accounts and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  • Lead and assist in preparing audit schedules, providing data to auditors, and coordinating with auditors to resolve their queries
  • Assist with researching and resolving technical accounting issues, including leases, contract costs, adoption of new standards, and general corporate accounting matters, especially as they relate to disclosure requirements
  • Maintain documentation of current processes and procedures
  • Assist with the development and implementation of new systems and internal controls that meet the Company's business growth and culture
  • Coordination of accounting matters with other departments
  • Review customer and vendor agreements; Assist with preparation of customer agreements
  • Help maintain and review other accounting & finance schedules and KPIs
  • Banking - remote deposits and ACH or wire transfers.
  • Preparing federal, state, local, and special tax returns, state business registration
  • Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures
  • Performing other accounting duties and supporting other staff as required or assigned
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required. CPA strongly preferred
  • 3+ years of accounting experience and/or public accounting experience
  • Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP
  • High-tech industry experience preferred, but not required.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational and stress management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel
  • Experience with NetSuite ERP preferred
  • Ability to work with little to no supervision
