The Senior Accountant will have primary responsibility for inventory and cost accounting working closely with our supply chain and procurement functions and third-party contract manufacturers. The role will interface with senior leaders and other finance professionals on financial reporting, financial planning, and support a variety of data analytics projects. This role requires the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines, demonstrate attention to detail, and provide high quality financial analyses. This position will report directly to VP-Finance.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for inventory control, inventory and cost accounting
  • Analyze and identify slow moving items for possible obsolescence
  • Work interdepartmentally to provide business units with required information with particular emphasis on internal supply chain and procurement functions and effective operation of our third-party manufacturing partners
  • Create functional monthly/quarterly/annual and Ad-Hoc financial reporting
  • Assist in development and ownership of the budget process
  • Using historical and budgeted information, provide regular inventory forecasts and cash flow requirements
  • Analyze and identify trends
  • Develop/maintain daily and monthly dashboards
  • Take ownership of portions of month-end close activities
  • Coordinate periodic cycle counts to confirm accuracy of physical inventory levels in SAP
  • Identify areas of improvement and make actionable suggestions
  • Act as back-up to other members of the finance team

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Deep experience working in a manufacturing environment with responsibility for inventory and cost accounting
  • Understand the basics of how order management works (i.e. QuoteàSales OrderàAR Invoice)
  • Knowledge of SAP Business One
  • Team player - be able to work within the finance department as well as with our design and sales teams
  • Independent worker - be able to move projects forward with little or no intervention and understand when to ask for help
  • Advanced Excel skills (intimate knowledge of Pivot tables, lookups, and other financial formulas).
  • Highly organized and able to maintain high level or accuracy

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Preference for Certified Public Accountant with experience working in SMB manufacturing environment preferably with electronics products
  • Familiarity with the inner workings of the finance and accounting department
    • Month-end closing workpapers and Journal Entries
    • Skills or experience automating aspects of reporting are desirable
