Job Description

A rapidly growing healthcare company in Monrovia, CA has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join their department. Ideal candidates for this role will have a strong understanding of GAAP, advanced technical skills, internal controls and a strong work ethic. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for day-to-day accounting as well as monthly financial reconciliations for key accounts. This will be a potential temp-to-permanent engagement open to local / onsite candidates.

  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
  • Prepare various general ledger reconciliation and record appropriate journal entries
  • Assist with other areas of the monthly close, financial statements and reporting package
  • Provide input into department's goal setting process
  • Develop and document business processes, related accounting procedures and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Seek ways to improve the workflow and processes automating work and reports when possible and efficient
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
  • Assist with internal management financial reporting
  • Cross train and assist with other accounting functions on as needed or back up basis
  • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
  • Special projects as required
  • Additional responsibilities as required

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration or related field
  • Big 4 experience preferred
  • Proven experience as a senior accountant with 3+ years' experience preferred
  • An understanding of GAAP
  • Prior experience with NetSuite ERP System is a plus
  • Desire to learn and grow one's skill set
  • Efficient communication and ability to work in a team environment
  • Proficient in MS Excel
