Job Summary

Functional Business Analyst works directly with Vaco's Client product development teams within the organization to build a pipeline of features and enhancements. A successful candidate must have extremely strong interview skills and the ability to drill down into complex processes to understand business needs across multiple product teams. The candidate must be able to translate business needs into process flows and functional user stories that will be consumed by the technical organization.

Job Duties/ Responsibilities

  • Applies process analysis and use of tools and techniques like Lean, business process modeling or Six Sigma and achieving improvements
  • Manages continuous improvement cycles and demonstrating results
  • Interviews customers for requirements and needs which are actionable
  • Creates user stories and user story maps
  • Facilitates workshops to analyze challenges and find solutions
  • Facilitates meetings to determine ROI using payback models
  • Performs data analysis, identifies themes, and creates compelling visualizations
  • Performs interviews with unhappy customers and translates feedback into improvement opportunities
  • Communicates objective feedback and improvement recommendations to senior leaders
  • Demonstrates strategic thinking through defining and implementing wide reaching improvements
  • Manages stakeholders through both mandate and influence led change
  • Works with stakeholders of multiple perspectives to achieve consensus on actions to be taken
  • Coaches and encourages transformation efforts at the Client
  • Adapts presentation techniques quickly based on individuals and situations
  • Manages multiple complex and data intensive projects at the same time
  • Collaborates with Product Owner/Manager and technical team to refine the product backlog
  • Collaborates with the scrum team on the definition of done to ensure successful development of user stories
  • Identifies data sources and analyzes data relevant to processes impacted by the solutions being created
  • Assists the scrum team with functional testing as needed

Job Specifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of functional business analyst experience
  • Must have good planning, organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to understand data structures and data modeling
  • At least two years of working as part of a scrum team
  • Passionate about customer experiences
  • Self-motivated and results oriented
  • Strong team player; able to work effectively within a team and more broadly with people from a variety of backgrounds and areas across the organization.
