If those sound like you then read on to learn more about this exciting opportunity! Our client in downtown Seattle is looking to add a Senior Manager to their Development Accounting team.

What you'll need:

  • 10+ years of accounting experience required
  • 5+ years of development, project cost, construction, or real estate accounting experience required
  • 4+ years of management experience
  • CPA required
  • Big 4 accounting experience is preferred
  • Experience developing and implementing new processes, and streamlining workflows
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate directly with Director of Accounting, Division Controller, Corporate Accounting, external auditors, senior management, etc
  • A team player who has the ability to multi-task and is self-directed
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Must be deadline focused, organized and exhibit problem-solving skills
  • Handle a dynamic work environment with competing priorities

  • Work Location: All candidates must be located in the Greater Seattle area and able to perform job duties located in downtown Seattle.

What you'll be doing:

  • Provide direction and guidance to Development Accounting team as they perform their duties to ensure timely, accurate and consistent delivery
  • Review and oversee the timely delivery of monthly accounting activities, requisitions, cash management and accounts payable
  • Monitor and communicate project budgets and actual costs
  • Assist site personnel on development accounting related matters
  • Partner with Development, Design, and Construction teams in all aspects of financial reporting, funding/capital call requests, and budgeting
  • Ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual lender and equity partner reporting requirements are met
  • Coordinate activities with Property Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Tax, and FP&A departments
  • Analyze and review accounting processes for improvement; support and lead the implementation of process and system enhancements
  • Drive efficient and effective financial and internal control processes
  • Mentor the accounting team for future advancement and provide day to day leadership, guidance, motivation, and support
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts
