Position Summary

The Lead Software Developer is a member of the information technology team. The Lead Software Developer will review, design, and develop information, communication, and software application solutions to support current business operations using both traditional data centers as well as cloud technologies. Job responsibilities include performing the full project lifecycle spectrum including design, prototyping, coding, integration, testing, debugging, deploying, maintaining, and documenting systems and applications. In depth knowledge of N-tier applications development to include data, logic, and presentation layers, object-oriented design, data modeling and database theory. Design, develop, and support systems which provide interfaces between Rx and its clients delivered through a variety of methods, including Web, telephony, fax, ftp, and e-mail. Develop applications using a variety of tools and languages, including Visual C#, Angular 2.0+, TSQL, .NET, .NET Core, XML, REST, WPF and Web Services. Consult with users, business analyst and clients to identify current operating procedures and to clarify system objectives. The Lead Software Developer will lead and direct the work of others when required. A wide decree of creativity and latitude is expected. This role works with the System Architect to create solutions that are stable, maintainable, and scalable while delivering on project goals.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of new applications, systems software, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise.
  • Ensure that development projects meet business requirements and goals.
  • Provide leadership in DevOps efforts which include internal, Azure and AWS Cloud environments.
  • Must be well versed in Azure DevOps CI/CD processes.
  • Lead pre-testing phase of development by evaluating proposals in order to identify potential problem areas, and make the appropriate recommendations.
  • Collaborate with analysts, designers and system owners in the testing of new software programs and applications.
  • Manage and provide direction for the application development team in support of business operations.
  • Provide technical leadership to project managers and programmers working on development project teams.
  • Review and analyze existing applications' effectiveness and efficiency, and then develop strategies for improving or leveraging these systems.
  • Research and make recommendations on software products and services in support of procurement and development efforts.
  • Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.
  • Improves operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures.
  • Updates job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Available during non-business hours to resolve system issues as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Engineering or related fields or equivalent experience
