Vaco has partnered with a Scottsdale based client to help build out their networking team. Our most pressing need is for a strong, Network Engineer. This person will assume ownership for the architecture, development and continuous improvement of all physical and cloud infrastructure systems and services, including security, stability and support for servers and network appliances. This position is expected to carry out duties such as system solutioning, monitoring, troubleshooting, access control list maintenance, disk storage management, server support and administration and vendor management.

Additionally, the Network Engineer ensures established processes and procedures are followed, configures, maintains, and uses best practices to apply security settings, global changes, maintain application solutions, and monitor system health. This individual is expected to be a highly motivated team member who can work in a fast-paced environment, be accountable for assigned workload and deliverables, and provide excellent customer service to all customers and partners. Position Responsibilities

  • Responsible for architecture, planning, implementation, maintenance and support of the physical and cloud server and network infrastructure systems and services. This includes provisioning of servers, applications, systems, storage, network, infrastructure components, security and related services as well as requirements gathering.
  • Must have either Meraki or Aruba Central support experience.
  • Must be experienced with HA Clusters.
  • Strong preference for experience supporting Palo Alto firewalls; Prisma access and Global Protect VPN.
  • Support or experience with ClearPass for network access control is preferred.
  • Monitor, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair/replace hardware and software as needed.
  • Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls.
  • Configures, maintains, and uses best practices to ensure optimum end-to-end security, stability and efficiency of Windows servers and monitoring of system health.
  • Develop and implement monitoring and management tools to ensure established functional standards and expectations for servers and infrastructure systems are applied and followed by support team members.
  • Work with internal and external teams to maintain and support server and system solutions to meet business requirements and expectations, while maintaining services for end users.
  • Administer, maintain, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues for PCs, laptops, tablets, mobile devices, printers, cellular, audio/visual and presentation equipment.
  • Provide advanced support for IT Help Desk partners.
  • Maintain knowledge base of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within multiple disciplines in the IT industry.

Minimum Experience: Minimum of 4 years in a systems administrator role (recent experience is a must as the technology landscape is constantly changing). Thorough understanding of Active Directory including integration, best practices, and key requirements for a successful program. Understanding and experience supporting Microsoft Windows Server and Linux/Unix OS. Advanced cloud experience; AWS is preferred. Understanding of automation and scripting solutions. Solid understanding of networking functionality and best practices.

Preferred Experience: Demonstrate proficiency creating and deploying scripts and automation using tools such as PowerShell. Advanced understanding of virtualization, servers, storage, networking and security. Advanced networking experience and skill set. Experience with macOS. Bachelors degree in Information Systems OR equivalent professional network/systems support experience is required.

Required Certification/ License: AWS Practitioner certified or attain certification within 90 days of hire (company paid for training).
