Job Description

VACO is looking on behalf of our client for a Senior Purchasing Administrator. This candidate will be responsible to purchase materials, scientific equipment and services and office/business supplies. Checks requisitions, obtains quotes, examines bids and makes awards. Evaluates vendor reliability; develops new supply sources, as required, in which current vendors and suppliers are inadequate. Coordinates purchasing activities with other departments to maintain inventory at planned levels. As required, monitors the cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality and quality at best value. Performs core responsibilities which are difficult, requiring considerable judgement and initiative in resolving issues. Has substantial understanding of position applying knowledge to complete a wide range of tasks in resourceful and efficient manner. Recommends procedures for new assignments and begin influencing by mentoring junior team members.

Essential Functions:

  • Processing POs
  • Monitoring inventory levels
  • Analyzing data from NetSuite using Excel
  • Processing information in software applications

Core Job Responsibilities:

The Purchasing and Planning department is responsible for activities related to the procurement of materials, parts, product, supplies and equipment for the company. It is also responsible to track inventory against forecast to manage sets in the field against ordering new product.
