We are currently recruiting for a Tax Manager position for a reputable, growing Richmond based Corporation

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Tax Director in completing all federal, state and local compliance and accounting requirements with timely and accurate information.
  • Responsible for managing the preparation of consolidated Form 1120 with complex tax matters
  • Responsible for managing the preparation of state tax returns.
  • Responsible for managing the filing of sales & use, property, excise, and fuel tax returns.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and tax accounting changes.
  • Responsible for leading and developing team of experienced tax professionals, including assigning work, setting deadlines, following up regularly on progress and providing formal and informal feedback.
  • Files and maintains business licenses for each operating company
  • Manage all federal and state income, sales & use, property and excise tax examinations.
  • Responsible for adhering to the established tax controls throughout the quarterly tax provision process and the tax compliance process.
  • Revises procedures by developing and streamlining procedures and worksheets for calculation of tax provisions.
  • Provide support for a variety of special projects, as needed, including restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and IT initiatives.
  • Identify profitability of potential mergers and acquisitions by analyzing tax information; calculating key ratios; identifying areas of tax savings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA and/or Masters in Tax preferred
  • 5+ years of tax experience at a public accounting firm or in a corporate tax department
  • Strong federal and state income tax technical skills
  • Strong analytical abilities and research skills and
  • Ability to interact effectively with peers, auditors and various levels of management
  • Solid leadership skills and ability to prioritize
