Job Description

Vaco is looking for a Technical QA/BA for our client in Sarasota.

The role will be about 80% QA, 20% BA.

This individual will be working its core technology platform on the Microsoft .NET framework which integrates with cloud-based applications and data platforms to deliver mission critical business solutions.

As an integral member of the Applications Development team, the Technical Business Analyst will work with cross-functional teams and will act as the conduit between the business stake holders, consultants, agencies, and the internal development teams. The candidate will play a dual role:

  • QA Analyst: Assist IT in establishing QA tools and methods to insure deliverables are meeting business requirements, design specifications, and to mitigate risk arising from defects in the code impacting production.
  • Business Analyst: Serve as liaison between the business and developers and will identify, interpret, and define business requirements and features; translate them into functional requirements and technical specifications; and lead the process to visualize, document, and communicate functional business solutions used to design, build, and test.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate and create the gathering and documentation of business requirements.
  • Utilize design thinking skills to help the business arrive at their desired requirements.
  • Conduct analysis to insure alignment with business priorities and to identify/mitigate any risk.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Project Management to establish priorities, resource requirements, and scheduling.
  • Collaborate with internal and external technical developers to communicate design specifications and to provide resource and cost estimates.
  • Participate in user acceptance testing to insure functional quality and outcomes fit original specification and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate in change management process to insure successful deployment of solutions with minimal impact to business.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and procedures to more effectively delivery solutions by increasing operational workflow
  • Develop deep understanding of integration points with other systems and platforms within the supported features of the applications.
  • Comply with existing change management methods to insure application stability.

PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years hands on experience in a highly technical business analysis role.
  • Experience with best practices for capturing, creating, visualizing, and communicating requirements, specifications, and designs.
  • Experience with business processes across multiple data domains in a services-based company
  • Experience working in an Agile or Kanban software development team (Jira and TFS).
  • Knowledge of all things Microsoft is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems, or related technical degree is preferred. IT industry certification(s) desired.
  • Demonstrated experience using technology tools including, but not limited to Jira, Microsoft Team Foundation Server, .NET framework, SQL, Visio, IIS, source code management, QA, and project management.
