As a Database Engineer, you will be responsible for providing 24x7 production support for client server systems. You will participate in production support and implementation of databases, design and tune critical high volume OLTP databases, and contribute to database infrastructure enhancements.

Your daily duties and responsibilities in this role will generally include:

  • Providing SQL Server Database Administration support to numerous systems on UNIX, Linux and Windows platforms
  • Formulating and implementing the team's technical vision, providing hands-on insight into system architecture, data software development and architectural design
  • Establishing database management systems standards, guidelines and quality assurance for database deliverables, such as conceptual design, logical data model capacity planning, external data interface specs, data loading, data maintenance plan and security policies
  • Collaborating with data modelers and facilitating interaction between DBAs and data modelers for logical and physical data models
  • Determining the appropriateness of data storage, archive, purge and backup strategies
  • Enforcing database standards and procedures
  • Providing technical leadership and mentoring to others on the team
