Vaco’s client is looking for a Senior Security Engineer who excels in high-energy settings and is passionate about safeguarding digital environments. In this role, you’ll focus on building and managing advanced security solutions, implementing automated compliance tools, and embedding secure coding practices across multiple teams. Your work will be central to strengthening the organization’s security measures, providing proactive defenses, and ensuring adherence to industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Automated Compliance Systems: Develop automated processes for compliance tasks, such as data retrieval and deletion, to meet CCPA requirements and beyond.
  • Risk Management & KPI Dashboards: Build systems that monitor KPIs in real-time, delivering insights into security trends and aiding in risk forecasting.
  • Streamline Security Rules: Regularly update and improve security rules for greater efficiency and risk reduction.
  • Automated Threat Response: Develop automation to enable immediate security responses based on key alerts and events.
  • Incident Response Framework: Design and implement systems that launch automated responses during suspected breaches, enhancing response speed and containment.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Security Engineering & Process Automation:
    • Develop integrated security tools that enhance internal infrastructure.
    • Collaborate with teams to address vulnerabilities, reducing risk at the development stage.
    • Integrate security tools within CI/CD pipelines; experience with Ansible and Jenkins is preferred.
    • Utilize regex for scripting to identify and manage attack patterns.
  • Secure Development Practices & Code Review:
    • Drive secure development practices, ensuring secure software development and release processes.
    • Conduct thorough architectural reviews and source code assessments to align with security benchmarks.
  • Comprehensive Security Tooling & Visibility:
    • Design organization-wide log monitoring systems to maintain security visibility.
    • Provide insightful, risk-based metrics for early warning and risk management.
  • Mentorship & Strategic Security Leadership:
    • Coach teams in secure coding, instilling a proactive approach to security.
    • Lead strategic discussions on security risk management, aligning recommendations with broader goals.
Experience Required:
  • 8 years of experience in software or security engineering, emphasizing security automation and vulnerability mitigation.
  • Expertise in Python, JavaScript (Node, AJAX), Java, SQL, Linux Bash, XML, YAML/JSON.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, AWS, and Azure.
  • Deep knowledge of compliance frameworks such as CCPA and GDPR, along with vulnerability management.
  • Familiarity with API security protocols, including REST, SOAP, and GraphQL.
  • Credentials from ISC2, ISACA, CompTIA, GIAC, AWS, Azure, TOGAF, or SABSA are a plus.
