Position Summary
The Logistics Manager is responsible for managing the daily execution of freight brokerage operations while identifying opportunities to grow the business. This role includes managing shipments, negotiating with carriers, ensuring compliance, and building strong relationships with both customers and carriers. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a proactive approach to solving logistical challenges.
Key Responsibilities

Execute daily freight management tasks:

Quote, cover, receive, process, and invoice shipments

Source and negotiate with carriers for open loads

Schedule and dispatch shipments using Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
Track and trace shipments, ensuring timely communication with customers on delivery status
Ensure accurate shipment documentation and maintain organized records
Build and maintain a strong, compliant, and cost-effective carrier network
Establish and grow relationships with customers by exceeding service expectations
Resolve transportation issues and customer concerns quickly and effectively
Monitor carrier compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
Follow internal risk management and compliance policies
Participate in after-hours/on-call phone rotation (including nights/weekends)
Perform other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications
Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field preferred

3–5 years of experience in logistics, freight brokerage, or transportation management

Equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience considered
Preferred Skills & Competencies:

Knowledge of freight brokerage and transportation operations

Proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (TMS)

Excellent negotiation and communication skills

Proven customer service and relationship-building abilities

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to work well independently and in a team-oriented environment

Flexible and able to work outside normal business hours when required
