Right in a very nice family office in the heart of downtown Nashville, a brilliant company is actively looking for for a versattile and high performing accountant/bookeeper with great communication and interpersonal skills along with 2+ years accounting experience and/or bookeeping experience, preferrably both. The ideal candidate is someone with experience outside of public accounting that knows how to deal with consolidation, bookeeping and multi-entity accounting. Candidate must be a team player with initiative and have a strong sense of ownership with the ability and/or passion to develop process improvements.

Job Description:
Responsible for handling normal accounting functions on QuickBooks with payables and receivables. Accountant will be doing the bookkeeping and paying the bills.

  • Ensure an accurate and timely month-end accounting close process
  • Review balance sheet and bank reconciliations for accuracy
  • Prepare and post journal entries and adjustments as needed
  • Assist in overseeing the accounting for acquired companies
  • Assist in transitioning accounting functions for acquired companies to the corporate office
  • Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and processes to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the accounting function
  • Assist with year-end audit process
  • Perform other duties as directed by management

Ideal Skill Requirements:

  • 4-year degree with Accounting major preferred
  • 2-5+ years' experience in general accounting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Quickbooks
  • Ability to foster a positive work environment
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and focus on accuracy
  • Strong verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and multi-task
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees
