Job Description

Vaco is searching for accounting candidates for a great consulting firm in the Marietta area. This role is designed to support a 3-person accounting department. The Association Accountant is responsible for the managed Associations' accounting and financial procedures and providing financial data as well as working with executive management to coordinate all financial planning functions with business operations. This is a Direct Hire opportunity with flex hours and offers a hybrid schedule (partially in office, partially remote). The target salary range is $64-$66k.

Job Duties:

  • Ensure all financial transactions are recorded appropriately in QBO, with the required level of detail
  • Reconcile monthly bank and credit card accounts (operating and investment)
  • Perform month end and year end close procedures (accruals, deferrals, development and maintenance of supporting schedules, etc)
  • Prepare and review monthly and annual reports as required by Association (P&L, Balance Sheet, Budget vs. Actual).
  • Serve as liaison between Association and Outside Accounting Firm. Primary point of contact for Audits/Reviews and Tax Preparation and Filing. Assist outside accounting firm with requests.
  • Maintain / Update Chart of Accounts
  • Work with Association Executive Director to create annual budget
  • Onboard new clients to QBO as necessary. May involve converting client from prior accounting software to QBO, creating/updating chart of accounts, verifying balances, etc.
  • Examine expenses submitted by association Board Members and employees
  • Monitor incoming payments from accounts receivable and outgoing payments from accounts payable
  • Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
  • Maintains client confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential between associations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed and required
  • Skills in accounting software, excel, and Association Management Systems

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • 2+ years of related accounting experience
  • QuickBooks experience
  • S-Corp experience is a plus
  • Non-profit experience is a plus
