Accounting Assistant

The Accounting Assistant will work closesly with members of the accounting department and customers to perform entry-level Accounts Receivable functions. This position is full time, 40 hours per week.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Taking ownership over collection calls and/or correspondence in a fast paced goal oriented collections department
  • Providing customer service regarding collection issues, process customer refunds, process and review account adjustments, resolve client discrepancies and short payments
  • Accountable for reducing delinquency for assigned accounts
  • Perform other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the Accounts Receivable Department
  • Enlist the efforts of Account Management and Supervisor when necessary to accelerate the collection process
  • Calling customers to rectify billing concerns
  • Other duties as requested by the supervisor / management

Required Experience:

  • 6 months of experience in an accounting related role, or some education completed toward an accounting related degree
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel
  • Strong time management skills
  • Good customer service skills
  • Experience with Worker's Comp collections is a plus
