Accounting Assistant - Contract to Hire - Norfolk, VA
$17-$19/hour

Role and Responsibilities:

A successful and growing logistics company in Norfolk, VA is seeking an Accounting Assistant to join its Norfolk corporate team. This is an ideal role for a driven and analytical recent college grad seeking a role that offers strong growth opportunities!!

The accounting assistant will support the accounting department in all areas of accounting operations including AP, AR, GL and bank reconciliations, and participate and support in many company initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist accounting team with invoicing, AR, AP, and GL and bank reconciliations
  • Assist with general ledger month-end close, and preparation of financial statements and reports
  • Assist with accounting systems enhancements, and perform special projects
  • Assist with audit preparation, and with budgeting and forecasting


Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with a master's degree and/or CPA track preferred
  • Accounting experience including internships
  • Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Exceptional computer knowledge including experience with ERPs and advanced ability with Microsoft Excel.
  • Multi-tasker eager for knowledge and accomplishment
